Kincaid Mounds Baseball Cap

The circular design with chevrons comes from a fragment of a plate or shallow bowl which had that design on the broad rim. The motif in the center comes from a sherd of a different vessel, a hemispherical bowl that had an owl head effigy attached to the rim. Although both vessels were finely crafted, both sherds were found in ordinary residential refuse, the discards from daily life, not from ceremonial or burial contexts.
